WHO WE ARE

My name is Saverio, but everyone calls me Save, I am 57 years old, I live in Rome, but I spent all the summers of my childhood in Rocca di Papa at the home of my maternal grandparents. We lived for four months a year in the big house all together: grandparents, parents, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was the countryside of another era: there was the vineyard to produce the grapes with which my grandfather made wine in the old cellar under the house, we produced the hazelnuts to which the whole family participated for weeks, we sowed, cut and packed the hay that we sold as fodder for the cows at the stable down the road, we looked after the dog, the cat, the pig, the hens and the rabbits.

For me there was no nicer place to spend the summer months, free to leave home early in the morning and come back in the evening dirty and exhausted by a day of cycling, exploration and games between children. I liked to follow the farmer in all his activities. I still remember the joy I felt in getting on the tractor trailer when it was carrying hay or running wet in the midst of the "turtles" watering the fields.

For all these experiences and good memories, I developed a close, almost intimate bond with this place.

In 2002, married to Dodo, I decided to build my house in an olive grove not far from the old house, under a secular oak tree so large that you can see from the center of the village of Rocca di Papa. That’s how the idea of Villa OAK came about. It took me three years to build it, but I was able to finish it in time for the birth of my daughter Giulia. From that moment Villa OAK is linked to the most beautiful memories of my family: the birthdays passed to decorate the tree in front of the fireplace, the endless swimming in the pool in the summer months, the first bike rides ... But what I’m most proud of is passing on love and respect for this place to my daughter.

Now I started a new adventure: I renovated Villa OAK making it a green house and complete with all the useful comforts for guests. I can’t wait to welcome you to Villa Oak and guide you in the discovery of this magical place!
